The valley cuts deeply through Europe's highest mountains and glaciers and it is dominated by the majestic Mont Blanc, rising to 4,810 meters (16,000 ft).
The Chamonix valley (click here to reveal map) is divided into six main skiing and boarding areas, which are connected by a free valley bus service. They offer over 750 kilometres of pistes, with over 250 ski lifts.
